Energy
Power where it is produced
The fastest way to power AI is to go where the energy already is. We generate on site, behind the meter, from sources that can be relied on for years.
Firm power first
AI cannot pause. Its power cannot either.
AI tenants need power around the clock for the full length of a lease. So we only build on energy that is firm: steady in volume, contracted, and backed up.
Interruptible or declining sources, like flare gas, are better suited to Bitcoin mining, which our sister company Proton Mining runs. Accretion focuses on supply that lasts.
Sources
Energy we build on
Pipeline gas
Sites near transmission or distribution pipelines with long-term supply.
Gathering-system gas
Gas from producer gathering networks, with backup supply built in.
Landfill gas
Steady methane from landfills, captured and used to generate power on site.
Industrial sites
Existing industrial sites where power, permits and infrastructure are already in place.
Behind the meter
A shorter path from energy to compute
A grid-connected data centre waits for power to be generated far away and carried in. Behind the meter, generation sits on the same site as the load.
Securing supply
How we make energy dependable
Long-term supply
Fuel agreements with producers that run for the length of the tenant's lease.
On-site generation
Generation sized to the load, with spare units so maintenance never means downtime.
Backup fuel
A second supply path, such as pipeline or gathering-system backup, wherever possible.
Aligned interests
Producers gain a steady, long-term buyer. Tenants gain power they can plan around.
Energy that would otherwise be can power the next generation of compute.
